Architecture & Engineering Industry Experiencing Tremendous Growth in 2015

According to the May/June issues of Engineering Georgia, the business of engineering is improving. Within the past few years, there has been overall tremendous growth in the engineering industry in terms of workload, expansion, and hiring.

“Nationally, the architecture and engineering industry has seen 15 straight months of employment growth, from just under 1.36 million total engineers employed in January 2014 to almost 1.42 million as of March 2015,” according to Michael L. Sullivan of Engineering Georgia. The greater Atlanta area (where Jordan & Skala is headquartered) ranked fifth in year-over-year job growth increase.

The recent opening of Jordan & Skala Engineers’ seventh office, located in Austin, Texas, is evidence of the growing industry (featured on page six).

The groundbreaking of Gwinnett Technical College’s new North Fulton Campus building is also featured on page six of the publication. The 95,000-SF facility will be the first building on the new campus and will house classrooms and administrative offices. The project is projected to serve 10,000 students upon completion. Jordan & Skala is providing MEP engineering design, in conjunction with Wakefield Beasley & Associates.
