AmerisourceBergen Corporation is one of the world’s largest pharmaceutical distributing companies serving the United States and Canada. The projects all involved special attention to local code due diligence and on-site construction administration. The design of the ABC projects required close coordination with the architect, structural engineer and manufacturing conveyor company. The buildings were on average 500,000-SF and included a one- or two-story office component. The entire distribution center was maintained at 75F/50% RH (uncontrolled) using a 2-pipe chilled water system and air rotation units. The building automation system included load shedding. The efficient and successful design afforded JSE the opportunity to design ABC’s six regional distribution centers in the United States: Sacramento, CA; Columbus, OH; Roanoke, TX; Birmingham, AL; Romeoville, IL; and Hanover, PA.
