HomeLatest NewsJordan & Skala Welcomes Three New Principals

Over the past 67 years, Jordan & Skala Engineers’ nation-wide presence has become a recognized standard in engineering. What began as a small mechanical group in 1953 has grown into a multi-discipline firm with seven regional offices, as well as an MEP Giant (Consulting-Specifying Engineer) for the last two decades. One significant contributor to this exciting growth is our robust team and leadership. We have created a foundation that centers on our clients and provides growth and guidance for bright engineers. With this mission in mind, we are proud to announce the promotion of three of our leaders to Principals! Through the growth of our leadership, clients and staff can look forward to continuing technical expertise and quality service from JSE. Read more about our three new Principals below:

Regina Young

REGINA YOUNG

With a holistic project approach and 25 years of experience, Regina Young both delivers and elevates the quality of service that Jordan & Skala strives to provide. She understands that project design has its roots in first understanding the client’s expectations and needs. Her philosophy is to develop and design “at their preferred rate,” meaning that each client receives a custom experience and the attentive consulting that they desire.

Regina has designed portfolio-shaping projects for JSE and maintained long-lasting client relationships. In her repertoire, she has implemented COVID-Mitigation strategies in over 50 assisted-living HSD buildings, transformed the Plaza Hotel in El Paso, TX, from a 1930s office building into a boutique hotel, and fully renovated the famous Fulton County Central Library designed by Marcel Breuer in Atlanta, GA.

Regina’s portfolio exemplifies one of her greatest strengths – diversity in design. Her expertise across vast market sectors includes residential, assisted living, hospitality, and office. She plans to leverage this strength in her new role as Principal to further educate and elevate our engineering staff.

Aaron McEwin

AARON MCEWIN

Since starting his career with Jordan & Skala as a Mechanical Co-op in 2005, Aaron McEwin’s strong background in our core services makes him the ideal leader and liaison for our growing Sustainability division. In this role, he proactively streamlines sustainable design into our existing MEP procedures, as well as educates our team and clients on fast-paced changes regarding code updates and green building programs across the industry.

With this knowledge, he has completed notable sustainability projects for our firm, including the energy model for the Veterans Affairs Hospital in San Juan, Puerto Rico, and the LEED energy modeling and MEP credits for Sterling Collwood in San Diego, a LEED Gold-certified student housing development that utilizes renewable energy systems. He approaches all of his projects and relationships with the goal to “be of service.”

Aaron’s drive to serve others in the industry has led him to be a prominent contributor to code developments with the City of Dallas, the North Texas Council, and the Home Innovations National Green Building Standard. He plans to continue this emphasis on education in his new role as Principal.

Dave Matthews

DAVE MATTHEWS

Dave and his team were instrumental to our company’s success during the COVID-19 pandemic which greatly affected our industry. Along with the team he has doubled in size since 2015, he championed relationships with multiple long-standing clients to deliver critical designs for big-name retailers, such as Bank of America, USAA, Caliber Collision, and a notable online retail giant.

These relationships that Dave has forged are a tribute to his approach of being “upfront and honest.” He prides himself on communication throughout project delivery, dealing with the realities of design openly and collaboratively.

With this mindset and 30 years of experience, 15 of those with JSE, Dave has become a go-to leader in the electrical engineering field. He will continue bolstering company-wide technical standards and specifications for the electrical discipline and using this expertise to help our clients and staff deliver successful projects.
